Hope starts with help.

You matter. Seek help and keep going.

Hope in Colors is a mental health awareness and suicide prevention initiative started by people in the community to inspire hope in others. We are working together to spread awareness around mental health, create a sense of community and belonging for everyone, and connect people to the help that is available 24/7.

How does it work?

Become a Hope in Colors Sponsor

A group in the community decides to be Hope in Colors Sponsor. The group will plan an event where they will color a handful of coloring pages with inspiring messages together. During the event, there is discussion about mental health and resources in the community to help.

Each sponsor will receive a unique Hope in Colors sign to hang up for display during your event. The sign is made by a local artist. We encourage you to keep the sign hung up after the event to serve as a reminder to Hope in Colors.

Every person who contributes to coloring a hopeful message should sign their name (or an alias) somewhere on the pages. It gives the project a more personal touch.

After the event, the completed coloring packet is returned to the Hope in Colors coordinator.

  • Who can be a sponsor?
Anyone! Churches, worksites, community organizations, friends, schools… just a group of people who want to inspire hope in the community

  • Where do we hold the event?
Anywhere convenient, but we strongly encourage meeting in person

  • What do we need to be a sponsor?
Printed coloring sheets, materials to color with, space to hold the event, someone to lead the discussion about mental health

Artwork to Inspire Hope

After the coloring pages are returned to the Hope in Colors coordinator, the coloring packets are arranged together along with 988 resources into a beautiful work of art to be displayed in the community. We work with organizations in the community to display in areas where people may be experiencing significant mental health challenges.

Create Art for our Program!

Do you enjoy art or are you an artist? We need artwork for our Hope in Colors sponsors. The artwork incorporates a few of our brand details, but it is otherwise open to artistic discretion!

What your art would need to include:

  1. The H that signifies the Hope in Colors brand

  2. A flower of any kind

  3. The saying “Hope in Colors”

What is the H with arrows mean?

As we go through life, there will be ups (the up arrows) and downs (the down arrows). The crossbar that connects the two signifies balance.

Ongoing Hope in Colors Workshops

If you work with groups of people who would benefit from an ongoing Hope in Colors workshop, our coordinators can work with your organization to facilitate workshops on an ongoing basis.

What a wonderful project and thank you for including Metro HS students!  I spoke with the art teacher, and she expressed that whenever she can get students involved in a project and them take ownership is a win.  She stated it was easy to “sell” this project to the classes and all students jumped right in.  That is a success right there.
